grand is an ongoing project that explores the past and present of my hometown Claremore, OK (the setting for the musical Oklahoma! and the home of Will Rogers, an early 20th century celebrity known for his humor, acting, and cowboy skills), the 2020 Supreme Court ruling of McGirt v Oklahoma that restored over half the state to Native territory (which Oklahoma politicians and oil companies have been fighting against ever since), and trying to figure out what to do with the knowledge that you’re part Native (or if you’re supposed to do anything at all).
